A Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Academy of Psychoanalysis.  He is also Board Certified in Forensic (Medico-Legal) Psychiatry.  He is an internationally renowned expert on the psychological issues of immigration, an area in which he has written extensively and received national awards.  He is a Professor of Public Health and Founding Faculty at FIU School of Medicine.   He specializes in adult and adolescent psychotherapy and medications, child evaluations, adult psychoanalysis, and immigration.
